A True Triple Threat
Production, Performance and Leadership

About Me
At an early age, I found my passion for theatre, at eight years old in fact. My grandmother took me to see Peter Pan, and when the lost boys came out, I yelled “Kids can be on stage”, and the rest is history. I joined acting classes, attended summer theatre camps, and was cast in various roles on small stages. I learned from a young age that to be in the theatre world, it takes dedication, focus, working long hours, and the need to challenge oneself to think outside the box, all of which I thrive off. My first professional role was part of the chorus in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat when I was ten years old. I went on to do a variety of productions that included roles in Shrek the Musical, Christmas Carol, Matilda, and Disney’s Descendants. I was on stages in Hamilton, Oakville, Kitchener, Burlington and Cambridge. I even did a TV game show, Just Like Mom and Dad.
In high school, I did a lot of acting in grade nine and ten, but quickly found myself in grades 10, 11, and 12 falling in love with the tech side of theatre. While I enjoy acting and singing, I found a passion for design and production which takes a whole new set of skills beyond those I learned as an actor. I’ve learned to multi-task, give direction, and provide leadership, visualize, be creative, and use my time management skills. I began to take on tech roles such as stage manager, production manager, lighting designer and operator, and front-of-house duties. In 2022/2023 I was my school's National Theatre Showcase (NTS) Production Manager where we won best district production. In 2023/2024, I won a Distinctive Merit Award at the showcase for best lighting/colour design when our school made it to provincials. In my final year of high school and NTS, I have taken on the role of Stage Manager for our production and I look forward to furthering my skills and leadership abilities.
Outside of theatre, I have a passion for politics. I have been a member/executive of the student council for three years of high school taking on executive roles for two of them. I have been an executive of the Drama Council for three years as well. I am a member of my local Member of Parliament’s Youth Council since 2022 and enjoy following world politics. I think it is very important to be involved and aware of global happenings.
Between my love for the arts, my interest in politics, travel and history, my goal is not only to graduate in theatre, but to share my passion and knowledge with others and one day become a high school drama teacher. The past two years I have been part of my schools LINK Crew which supports and mentors grade 9 students to help them adapt to high school and I’ve relished that role. For the 2024/2025 school year, I became a LINK Commissioner which not only leads grade 9’s but I oversee and assist all the LINK leaders because the program teachers felt my leadership skills are strong. In grade eleven, I took a class that gave me the role of teachers assistant to support the grade nine student drama teachers. I couldn’t wait for each day to lead them in class activities, provide them feedback and encourage them to push themselves beyond what they thought they were capable of.
